This song was born in a moment of quiet gratitude — thinking back on every teacher who looked past the child I was and saw the person I could become. I remember sitting at my kitchen table, remembering a teacher's voice from forty years earlier, and realizing I had never thanked her.

"Teachers" became my way of saying thank you to every educator who has ever given a child more than a lesson — who gave them belief. It is one of the simplest songs I've written, and one of the ones closest to my heart.
